Dixie Boys

Dixie Boys is a competitive division.  By now the players should have an understanding of the rules of the game and acquired the skills and attitude necessary for a more competitive game of baseball. Regular Major League rules are used. Emphasis is placed not only on individual skill development, but, also on team strategies. Players will adjust to stronger defenses, and more experienced pitchers and are motivated by their eagerness to play baseball.

13/14 YEAR OLDS

  • Teams will roster bat (all players on the team must bat in order).

  • All players must play a minimum of 6 defensive outs.

  • All catchers, batters and base runners must wear helmets with face masks.

  • NO steel cleats are allowed.

  • Field dimensions are 80 ft. bases and 54 ft. pitching rubber.

  • Balks will be called at all times

  • No inning will start after 100 minutes of play.  If you start the inning before 100 minutes has expired, you must finish the inning.

  • In the event of a squeeze play, the batter MUST bunt or take the pitch.  If the batter swings the bat, the batter is out, the runner is out and the 3rd base coach is ejected.

  • With the bases loaded, 2 outs and the count on the batter full (3 balls, 2 strikes), the runner from third base shall not run hard to the plate until the batter swings.  If the runner does run hard, the runner is out and the 3rd base coach is ejected.
